This being the first time reading Phoebe's work, I must admit I was quite impressed at how she can hold a reader's interest. Glimmer is a novel that from the very beginning, leaves you clueless and begging for answers.
Glimmer takes place in a perfect town I myself found wanting to visit. Heck, I wanted to live there too. Except, Summer Falls isn't all that meets the eye. A deep and hidden mystery lies buried within this town. A mystery as to why Elyse and Marshall have awoke next to each other, and yet they must know each other, but have no recollection of anything in their lives up until this point. Finally busting out of the room they were apparently being held in, they set out to find who they are. It is Elyse that seems to have an ability that others in Summer Falls aren't gifted in. She can see the reason why everyone has these so called heat naps. The truth is, they aren't heat naps at all. They are being touched. By what exactly? You might not want to know.  Let's just say that it's what made Marshall and Elyse lose their memory in the first place. Trying to stop it isn't easy. Far from it, seeing as which that is what killed Marshall's mother. Together, they are going to give it one more shot. Even if it kills them too.
