A most dark and devouring sequel has enveloped within the pages, captivating the reader. As if things weren't hectic enough, now Ethan has to deal with not only learning that he has survived death, but that Lena has now rejected him due to the painful loss if her uncle Macon. Ethan doesn't have a clue of the thoughts and pain, not to mention the guilt running through Lena. All he knows is that his biggest fear is that she's turning dark. I can't say that I didn't get quite fed up with Lena myself, purposely dodging Ethan. I also feared that she was turning dark. I just couldn't get over that she had turned to Ridley and John Breed. These people are not who she should've turned to, and it's when Lena completely disappears that Ridley shows her true colors.
Realizing that Gatlin isn't the quaint little town it seems on the surface, Ethan, along with the help of Lena and Link, set out to find Lena, in hopes to save her soul from the darkness it desires. Getting help from some unexpected places is quite shocking in the least. The ending is sure to unveil sure shocks and many more questions.

I really liked the first two books, but I've had the 3rd book on my bookshelf since it came out last fall and I haven't read it yet! I really need to get to it. Too many books! haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat review :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those series that I have yet to read, but I really want too! (I have them on my Amazon Wishlist - so I keep hoping someone will buy them for me!)
