Simone Elkeles has shared her words on bullying today. When I first read her post, I found myself rooting for her! Standing up to people isn't easy, but sometimes it's just what nees to be done! She has also donated a copy of a super fab poster that I think you might be interested in!!
First of
all, thank you so much for inviting me to participate in your blog’s
celebration of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
There’s
almost nothing I hate more than bullying.
My entire life, I’ve always rooted for the underdog, whether we’re
talking about football (which I love!) or social status. I was always very
outgoing, so I was popular in middle school and high school. I know it wasn’t that way for everyone and I
felt bad for the kids who were picked on. When I was in school, if I saw
someone being bullied, I always tried to make friends with them.
One time,
when I was in 8th grade, I saw a 7th grader being bullied
by one of my classmates. I walked over
and told the girl that if she didn’t leave the other girl alone, I was going to
kick her a**! I must have scared the
crap out of her because she apologized right away and never did it again. Listen…Thank goodness she didn’t know that I
had never (and still haven’t) been in a fight in my life! I don’t know what I would have done if she’d
taken me up on my offer of a fight!
I
definitely don’t condone fighting as a response to bullying, but I DO think you
should stand up for yourself and for others.
That might mean just telling the bully to stop, or it might mean getting
a parent, teacher, or authority figure involved. No matter what, if you see someone being
bullied, make friends with them. Make
sure they know they are not alone. You
never know when the tables might be turned and you’ll be the one needing a
friend.

Oh it's hard to choose a brother, but I'm going to have to say Alex!
ReplyDeleteYes that's exactly who I pick too!
DeleteWhat a great story. I was also in the popular crowd in school, but I was friends with everyone, not just the popular kids. I stood up for people that got picked on too.
ReplyDeleteDAJKLSDSA. But the brothers are all so...hot.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Alex. :p
All the books were amazing, and i loved all the brothers!
ReplyDeletebut if i had to choose 1, I'd have to say Alex was my favorite.
I cant choose it wouldn't be right
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has to be Carlos. However, Alex is such a close, close second!
ReplyDeleteTo make me choose one would be unfair! XD
ReplyDeleteAhh It's hard to choose but my favorite would have to be Alex
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would be LUIS! he's the best one. I love Alex and Carlos too but Luis is definitely #1. He made the series end amazingly. I pick LUIS hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to choose!!! I love them all!!! But if I HAD to choose, my favorite would have to be Alex, mostly because his was the first book of the series that I read, so he was the first one I fell in love with!
ReplyDeleteIf I had to absolutly choose, I would choose Carlos, but Alex and Luis are awesome as well! :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Chain Reaction and honestly so far so good! Perfect Chemistry and Rules of Attraction are amazing books! The characters, plot, theme...romance was great. I loved both of them. If I had to pick my favorite Fuentes brother, it would have to be Carlos Fuentes. I like how his character is set up. Thank you Simone Elkeles for writing such great books, I can't wait to keep reading more.
